Wagner’s soldiers returned to the front: it became known where they were transferred
Wagner mercenaries were returned to Bakhmut. However, the formations assembled from Wagner’s fighters are unlikely to have a major impact on the outcome of the fighting, analysts say.
“Yes, the Wagner is here too. They came back, quickly changed commanders and came back here,” one of the drone operators with the call sign “Groove” told CNN.
The group’s presence is partly intended to compensate for the lack of personnel in Putin’s army.
“Still, it’s a slow job – a war of attrition – and with less advanced Western equipment than their counterparts on the southern front line, Ukrainian forces here are forced to rely more on wits than on strength,” the newspaper writes.
“We are constantly changing our tactics,” explains the Flint commander, “It’s like boxing. We move on to the body, and then we move on to the head.”
For example, drones play an important role on the battlefield. Drone operators drop bombs on the occupiers even at night.
“We will hit their first line, and our guys will advance on the enemy,” said “Groove”.
This is the first confirmation of the return of the Wagner to Bakhmut from the Ukrainian military. The day before, the Rybar telegram channel, which is close to the Ministry of Defense, reported the appearance of mercenaries in the area. According to him, those fighters who “broke away” from the PMC after Prigozhin’s mutiny began to return to Bakhmut. They are led by Andrey Troshev (call sign “Sedoy”), who continues to recruit mercenaries for the operation in Ukraine, who are based in Belarus and Africa, the channel writes.
On September 23, the Grey Zone telegram channel, which is close to the Wagner PMC, wrote that a mercenary detachment “will now enter the Bakhmut direction.” At the same time, the report emphasized that it was about those who refused to participate in Prigozhin’s rebellion. “I assure you that this organization has nothing to do with the Wagner Group, no matter what is said on its behalf,” the statement said.
Reports in pro-Russian sources indicate that Wagner’s forces are no longer a unified force, the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) concludes.
As a reminder, Wagnerians are being pushed out of Africa. On the one hand, this is done by the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the other hand, the mercenaries have been declared war by a huge Tuareg tribe living in Niger, Mali, Algeria, Mauritania, Libya, Burkina Faso, Chad, Nigeria and Egypt.
