We should expect surprises by the end of the year – what will happen to fuel prices in Ukraine

There has been a significant drop in the price of oil and oil products globally. This has led to a decline in the price of diesel fuel and gasoline in Ukraine. However, this is not the case with autogas, as the blockade of the Polish border has a significant impact on the pricing of this raw material.

This was announced by the director of the A-95 Consulting Group Sergiy Kuyun at a briefing broadcast on YouTube.

Gasoline and diesel

“Last week, some chains started to reduce prices. Yesterday there was a massive stage of reduction, large national chains lowered their prices in hryvnia,” the expert said.

According to Sergiy Kuyun’s forecast, gasoline and diesel prices should fall significantly in the next ten days. We should expect a two-hryvnia drop in price. And this is not the limit, so it is possible that fuel prices will even be lower.

“We were helped by the fact that the price of oil and petroleum products on the global market has dropped quite significantly. At its peak in September, it was $95 per barrel, and today it is $80. And accordingly, the purchase prices are going down,” says Kuyun.

The expert noted that diesel and gasoline prices were not affected by the blockade of the Polish border. This is because 10% of raw materials were transported through this country by road. That is why traders have shifted to railways and imports from other countries.

How drivers can save on fuel in Ukraine

It is noted that owners of gasoline and diesel engines have the opportunity to significantly save money at gas stations if they follow one simple rule. It turns out that drivers burn more fuel when they carry extra weight in their cars. That’s why it’s worth giving up.

Excess weight can cause drag when driving, so you may not be able to get enough fuel for a longer period of time. Also, some drivers often carry unnecessary things in the trunk. Sometimes they can even lie idle on the passenger seats or in the legroom.

And when a car is overloaded, it burns more fuel than usual. If you are interested in this topic, you can find more information in our article here.
