WhatsApp banned screenshots of profile photos
WhatsApp is introducing a new screenshot blocking feature for profile photos to enhance user security. This is reported by AndroidPolice.
This feature has not yet been officially announced, but it is already being tested on the server. It will prevent you from taking a screenshot of the user’s image. Meta, the owner of WhatsApp, is trying to make the platform even safer and more reliable for users.
Currently, screenshot blocking is enabled by default and cannot be disabled. However, WhatsApp may make changes in the future and allow users to choose. It’s worth noting that you can still take a screenshot in the mini-pop-up window that opens when you click on a contact’s photo in a chat.
Although it is possible to take a screenshot from another phone’s camera or using the web version of WhatsApp on a computer, blocking screenshots for profile photos will make it harder for scammers and stalkers.
