WhatsApp users will be able to use their fingerprint to secure chats
A new privacy-related feature will soon be available to WhatsApp users. It was first reported by journalists of the online publication WABetaInfo, who managed to find its mention in the beta version of the messenger 2.23.8.2.
After the new feature is released in the stable version of the app, users will be able to use their fingerprint to block certain chats to protect dialogs from prying eyes. Alternatively, a password can be used to protect chats.
Chats that are locked with a fingerprint or password will be separated from other chats. It will be impossible to enter them without a fingerprint or password. The new feature is aimed at ensuring the confidentiality of media files. Videos and photos received by users in blocked chats will not be stored on the device. WABetaInfo journalists believe that the new feature will be available to messenger users after the next update is released
