YouTube Music now allows you to find songs by humming them

YouTube Music has finally introduced a feature that many users have been waiting for: the ability to search for songs by humming or playing them. This addition was noticed in the latest version of the program 7.02 for Android.

The new feature allows users to identify songs by humming or playing the melody. It was initially tested as an experiment on YouTube and is now being rolled out to YouTube Music users on Android. To access the “search by chorus” feature, users can click on the search icon in the upper right corner of the YouTube Music app. Next to the existing microphone icon for voice search, a new wave icon has now appeared. Clicking on this icon opens a search page where users are invited to “play, sing, or hum a song.”

Google’s artificial intelligence compares your vocal styles with YouTube Music’s vast library of songs and usually finds a match, displaying a full-screen search result. Users can choose to play the song or save it to their library to listen to later.

Users have already reported that the feature works effectively for songs in different languages. Although the rollout is still ongoing and is currently available for Android users with the 7.02 version of the app, iOS device owners will soon be able to join the “singing party” as well.
