Zaluzhnyi commented on the draft law on “mobilization of 500 thousand Ukrainians” and the abolition of limited fitness
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi commented on the new draft laws on mobilization in Ukraine during a telethon.
According to him, the military command did not request specific numbers of mobilized Ukrainians. We are talking about the figure of 400-500 thousand people, which was mentioned, in particular, by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“We do not make a separate request to the Cabinet of Ministers or the Verkhovna Rada directly,” he said, adding that the military command regularly makes requests for ammunition, weapons and human resources.
At the same time, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi says that the figure of 400-500 thousand mobilized people was formed by the military command for the next year. It takes into account the coverage of current understaffing and the creation of new military units, as well as the forecasting of losses of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Commander-in-Chief also explained the parameters of fitness for military service, which are set out in the draft law on mobilization. The general emphasized that the document proposes to remove the concept of “limited suitability. The Military Medical Commission will decide whether they will be fit or not.
“Today, the treatment of disability of groups 2 and 3 is not relevant, because it is not a person who decides on fitness for military service, but the Military Qualification Commission,” Zaluzhnyi said.
