According to the CNS, the occupiers tried to hide from MLRS strikes in thickets and training trenches on the occupied island. This protected area is located 70 km from Kherson.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have conducted precision strikes on the positions of Russian troops occupying Dzharylgach Island in Kherson region, which is part of the National Nature Park. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the National Resistance Center.

Before the outbreak of the full-scale war, the largest island in the Black Sea was connected to the mainland of Ukraine by a boat crossing.

But after the occupation of the Kherson region, the water space separating the island from the coast of Lazurne was covered with sand to make it easier to transport military equipment.
