Musk solemnly handed over the first Tesla Cybertruck to selected customers – video
Elon Musk handed over the first Tesla Cybertrucks to a group of selected customers during an event with neon lighting and dubstep music. Among the recipients were iconic figures such as Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and founder of the Seven Seven Six venture capital fund, and Philip Sarofim, chairman of Trousdale Ventures.
The live broadcast of the Cybertruck presentation lasted about 30 minutes and was marked by a stylish organization in the spirit of Tesla: loud music, the presence of VIP guests and Musk himself.
Delivery of the Tesla Cybertruck begins six years after Musk announced the development of the model and four years after its first presentation. During this time, the price of Cybertruck has increased compared to the price announced in 2019.
Those who were hoping for a Cybertruck for under $40,000 may be disappointed. The version with rear-wheel drive and a range of 400 km on a single charge will cost from $60,990 and will be available only from 2025.
In 2024, the Cybertruck Cyberbeast will be available with twin and triple engines. The dual-engine version will cost from $79,990, with a range of 550 km on a charge, acceleration to 96 km/h in 4.1 seconds, and a top speed of 180 km/h. The three-engine model will cost $99,990, have 845 horsepower and a range of 515 km.
The cheapest version of the Cybertruck will be available in 2025, and there is a possibility that Tesla will reduce its starting price in the future.
