Ukrainian Armed Forces start using scanners-interceptors to fight FPV drones
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have found a new effective way to repel attacks using FPV drones. They intercept their video signals using special scanners. This became known from communications specialist Serhiy Beskretnov, call sign “Flash”.
According to the expert, any FPV drone has two radio channels. The first radio channel is used to control the UAV. Electronic warfare domes are used to jam it. The second channel is used to transmit the image to the screen of the operator’s headset. If it is jammed, it becomes impossible to control the FPV drone.
“Flash emphasized that the video channel is open. In this regard, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have no problems intercepting it. The Russian army uses the cheapest FPV modules. This approach minimizes the cost of producing disposable kamikaze UAVs.
