What Ukrainians most often searched for on Google in 2023

Google has published a ranking of search queries for 2023, analyzing what Ukrainians searched for most often and what topics gained the most interest during this year.

This is stated in the final rating from Google.

For example, among the year’s highlights, the Air Alert Map query took the top spot. The second place was taken by the query “Power outage schedule,” and the third by Prigozhin. The year’s trending queries also included Deep State, Israel, and Kakhovka HPP.

Among the people whose interest grew the most during the year, the first place was taken by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov. Next are Spartak Subbota, Oleksandr Usyk, Vladimir Putin, Mykhailo Mudryk, Kyrylo Budanov, Dmytro Linartovych, Iryna Farion and Garik Bircha.

As for the people who left forever in 2023, the most inquiries were about Yevhen Prygozhyn, Nina Matvienko, and Denys Monastyrskyi.

In the category of films in 2023, Ukrainians were most interested in Christopher Nolan’s new film Oppenheimer, which tells the story of the creation of the atomic bomb. The top ten also includes Avatar 2: The Waterway, Ukrainian film Mavka, Furious 10, John Wick 4, the highest-grossing film of the year Barbie, and the tragicomedy Luxembourg, Luxembourg by Ukrainian director Antonio Lukic.

Among television series, the leader was the Venzdey series. In addition, Ukrainians were looking for new seasons of The Good Doctor, House of Happiness and The Witcher, as well as Turkish drama series Blood Flowers and Kingfisher.

In the Purchase of the Year category, Ukrainians were most interested in where to buy potassium iodide. Among the top purchase requests were a generator, last year’s leader, online tickets for Ukrzaliznytsia, a new iPhone model, and a power bank.

In 2023, Ukrainian users searched for Hepatitis A, Hamas, and REB. The Ukrainians also tried to find out the meaning of the words “Redan”, “Makeba”, “KAB”, “Cluster munitions” and “IPSO”.
