Now it hunts airplanes: Iran’s Karrar UAV is equipped with air-to-air missiles

Iran has deployed a drone that can launch air-to-air guided missiles, Bloomberg reports from the Islamic Republic’s state news agency.

“Dozens of Karrar UAVs with new capabilities will guard the country’s borders and force enemies to seriously reconsider their air warfare strategies,” IRNA reported on Sunday, citing Army Chief Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi.

According to Mousavi, Karrar has a range of 1,000 kilometers and is designed to track enemy aircraft at “significantly lower costs” than manned fighters.
