The Bohdana self-propelled gun will be produced in a towed version
The Ukrainian defense industry has handed over about 30 units of 2S22 Bohdan to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The company has already produced 30 units in the war. It is important that none of them were lost, there are only a few damaged ones that are being repaired. At the same time, even its first version is still in service on the KrAZ chassis. At the beginning of 2022, an agreement was signed on the long-term production of self-propelled guns for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The development of a towed version of the 155 mm artillery system is currently underway.
The journalists of Ekonomichna Pravda, citing military sources, reported that Bohdana is currently one of the most frequently used 155 mm artillery systems. Their number on the front line is in the dozens.
The gun barrels are manufactured at the facilities of the Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant. The production process involves 25 enterprises. Critical components are now manufactured abroad, and some production processes are decentralized. All this protects production from enemy attacks.
Ukraine produces six 2S22 Bohdan artillery systems every month. Its trailer version will be presented soon. This will speed up the process of producing weapons for the Ukrainian army.
