Ukraine restores a secret Kharkiv development – the Object 14 tank (photo)

A secret development of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant has been restored after a missile attack by the occupiers and is serving in one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades, Ukrainian telegram channels say.

A photo of the unique Object 14 tank was posted on Ukrainian telegram channels. It is stated that it has been restored and is in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by tank historian Andriy Tarasenko.

The Soviet Union wanted to adopt a light tank that floats. Among several projects, the Kharkiv Tractor Plant project was the most suitable for implementation. The development of the tank began in the 1970s. A new Planer chassis was developed in Kharkiv and two versions with 125-mm and 152-mm guns were offered.

The Russians created the Sprut-S tank, and the Volgograd Tractor Plant even produced a small series of vehicles. However, it has not yet proven itself on the battlefield. The Kharkiv design turned out to be much more compact. Object 14 has now been restored and returned to service.

The first to report the appearance of the unique tank on the battlefield were two Ukrainian telegram channels: russia no context and NMFTE. They also published photos of the car.

“During the Cold War, it was supposed to cross the Dnipro River and break through NATO defenses. However, in our time, it was found under the rubble after a Russian missile strike, the tank was restored and now serves in one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The cannon and other components are identical to the T-64 tank,” russia no context states.
