About a week ago, the American automaker finally started selling its new electric pickup truck Cybertruck, which for a long time could not be put into full mass production. But here’s the rub. The final characteristics of the car were significantly lower than in 2019, when the car was announced and the first buyers made a deposit for them.
Tesla has been heavily criticized on social media. Cybertruck’s specialized forums, including a thread on Reddit, are scolding the company for the price of the car, which has changed dramatically in three years.
In 2019, the cost of a single-engine pickup truck was less than $40 thousand, while now it is equal to $61 thousand.
But the difference was even greater in the twin-engine all-wheel drive Cybertruck. Three years ago, it cost from 49 thousand 900 dollars, and now it will cost buyers at least 80 thousand.
The list of other complaints against the company also included a reduced towing capacity from the originally specified 6350 kg to 4990 kg, as well as a power reserve that made Cybertruck fans furious.
When announcing the 3-motor version of the Cyberbeast, Tesla promised that the range on a single charge would be more than 800 km, but in fact it turned out to be almost 2 times less – up to 515 km.
For those who are not satisfied with this, a range extender is provided, but you will have to pay an additional $ 16 thousand and sacrifice a third of the luggage compartment.
Now, many Cybertruck fans are threatening Tesla to cancel their orders because the pickup’s specifications do not meet those promised to them in 2019.
