A Ukrainian woman, born in Odesa, will fly into space on a Virgin Galactic ship
On January 26, Lina Borozdina, a native of Odesa who lives in the United States, will join Virgin Galactic in a suborbital flight of the Unity ship. She will be accompanied by three other space tourists. She wrote about this on her Facebook page, and the information is confirmed by the Virgin Galactic website.
“After almost 18 years of waiting, it was my turn to fly Virgin Galactic,” Borozdina wrote. She also showed some photos of herself in a special suit that she will wear during the flight. The symbols of Ukraine and the United States can be seen on the sleeve.
To launch the ship, a VSS Unity aircraft will lift it into the air. Then the ship will separate and start its engines, which will bring it to the boundary between the atmosphere and outer space. Space tourists will spend 90 minutes there, including in zero gravity.
The ticket price is $450,000, including a $150,000 deposit.
