AI is now available at Amazon – Rufus online assistant will help users with shopping
Amazon has introduced a new AI shopping assistant called Rufus.
The tool is designed to help users find and buy goods. Customers type or speak a question in the search bar in the Amazon mobile app, and a chat window appears at the bottom of the screen.
Users can ask conversational questions, such as “What’s the difference between running shoes for trails and roads?” or “Compare drip and pour-over coffee makers.”
“Rufus makes it easier for shoppers to find and discover the best products to meet their needs,” Amazon’s blog says.
To answer questions, Rufus uses the Amazon product catalog, customer reviews and FAQs, as well as information from around the web.
Amazon is currently testing the feature on a small number of users in the US. The company intends to roll it out across the country in the coming weeks.
