Virtual groom: Spanish artist is going to marry artificial intelligence
A Spanish-Dutch artist will marry an AI hologram this summer. This was reported by Insider.
Spanish-Dutch artist Alicia Framis will marry her holographic partner AILex this summer. The hologram is trained based on information about her previous romantic partners. The unconventional ceremony will take place at the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen museum in Rotterdam.
The bride’s PR team announced that the ceremony would feature “a unique ritual of human-avatar unity” and that guests would be served “molecular food that can be enjoyed by both humans and humanoid creatures.”
Framis says that weddings represent a “new generation of love,” where people will have relationships with holograms, avatars, and robots. “It’s interesting that we can get a mortgage to buy a new car, and now we can get a mortgage to buy a new companion,” she says. She added: “AI companions and humans can be a beneficial option for people who need to communicate. This hologram will fulfill all my needs.”
She reportedly had a previous relationship with a mannequin named Pierre.
