On the night of March 24, Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed 43 air targets, including 18 X-101/X-555 missiles and 25 Shahed drones, in various regions of the country. The attack was carried out with the help of 14 Tu-95MS strategic bombers, which fired missiles from the territory of Russia (Engels area) and drones launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda (Crimea).

Anti-aircraft missile systems, fighter aircraft, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare were used to repel the attack. This was announced by the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.

“As a result of air combat, 43 air targets were destroyed: 18 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles and 25 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs within Dnipro, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kyiv, Volyn and Lviv regions,” the statement said.

Also, during the morning air raid on March 24, Russian occupants attacked Lviv region with missiles and hit infrastructure facilities that had been targeted during the night attack, said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

It is noted that at about 09:30, Russian troops from MiG-31K aircraft attacked the Lviv region with Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

According to the JMA, there were two previous hits to the same critical infrastructure facility that the occupiers targeted at night. He added that the firefighters who were extinguishing the fire were warned about the attack in time. They managed to move to a safe place.

Later, Oleksiy Chernyshov, chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, said that as a result of the morning Russian missile attack in the west, Naftogaz facilities were damaged.

“In the morning, the enemy attacked the energy infrastructure again. We have damage to Naftogaz Group facilities in the west. Preliminarily, there were no casualties. Work is underway to localize and eliminate the consequences of the emergency,” Chernyshov wrote on Facebook.

According to media reports, gas production facilities in Stryi and the largest thermal power plant in the west of the country were hit. Russia continues to attack Ukraine’s critical infrastructure while the West tries to flirt with Putin again.
