On April 16, it became known that the famous Ukrainian writer Dmytro Kapranov had died. He was 56 years old.

This was reported on the Kapranov brothers’ social media page.

Friends, we are in trouble. This morning Dmytro died suddenly. I’ll write tomorrow when and where the farewell is. Everything else is canceled, sorry,” the message says.

The cause of the Ukrainian writer’s death is currently unknown.

What is important to know about the Kapranov brothers

Vitaliy and Dmytro Kapranov are Ukrainian writers, publishers, publicists, public figures, and bloggers.

They were born on July 24, 1967, in Dubossary, now Moldova. They have an older brother, Serhii.

Despite the fact that the Kapranov brothers received their higher education at the Ural Polytechnic Institute (Sverdlovsk, Russia) and the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, specializing in technical cybernetics, this did not prevent them from developing and promoting Ukrainian history and culture in the future.

The Kapranovs’ first book project is a catalog of books by mail called Knigonosha. In 1998. he Kapranov brothers collected all the books in Ukrainian that were in their warehouses from all the publishing houses, regardless of the year of publication.

There were 600 titles of such books, all of which were included in the first catalog (in 1998, there were only 600 titles in Ukrainian, as documented).

It is also worth noting that immediately after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Kapranov brothers fought the invaders with arms in hand in Kyiv in the ranks of the Azov regiment.
