Now the former head is forming the team of the new embassy
Former Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, who was dismissed in February, has been confirmed as Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK. He received a letter of agrimony from Britain that he could be appointed to this position.
This was stated by politician Yuriy Lutsenko during the telethon. According to him, a presidential decree appointing Zaluzhnyi should be issued soon.
“London has sent an agriman, which means approval for the appointment of Mr. Zaluzhnyi as ambassador. So in the near future, after almost a year, maybe even more, we will finally have an ambassador of Ukraine in London. The agriman was approved 5-6 days ago,” the politician said.
Lutsenko also said that Valeriy Zaluzhny is currently preparing for diplomatic work and forming the team of the new embassy.
What is an aggregate?
An agremand is a preliminary consent of the government of one state to accept a certain person as the head of the diplomatic mission of another. The document is defined by international law and enshrined in the Vienna Convention on International Diplomatic Relations.
In other words, by granting Zaluzhnyi the agrimony, the UK agreed to him being Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom.
