Employees of the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TSC and SS) in Zakarpattia Oblast are forcibly mobilizing truck drivers for international flights, and abandoning cargo on the roads.
This was reported by Censor with reference to the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine (AsMAP).
“I want to officially address the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Infrastructure today – let’s sit down at the table, discuss all the problems and find ways to solve these problems. But you can’t seize drivers on highways, take them away by throwing the cargo, throwing the car on the highway… A person should know when he or she leaves for a trip whether he or she will get home or not,” emphasized Leonid Kostyuchenko, President of AsMAP.
In particular, the carrier Shal LLC (Kyiv region) reported that on April 24, drivers of several trucks engaged in transit transportation of goods from Europe to Ukraine were detained, forcibly taken to the TCC premises, where they were quickly mobilized and sent to military units for military service. At the same time, the trucks were left unattended.
Drivers are detained without consent and with the use of force. They also take away all documents and phones from drivers so that they cannot inform anyone about the fact of illegal detention. We lose contact with drivers for several days.
The facts of detention and mobilization of international transportation drivers are also reported by the carriers KTS LLC (Rivne) and Transpele LLC (Kyiv).
Most reports of forced mobilization of drivers come from Zakarpattia, from the same checkpoint in Nyzhni Vorota. According to the carriers, this destructive practice leads to drivers refusing to perform transportation en masse, which leads to delays in cargo delivery.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian authorities are officially abolishing human rights, as reported by the Council of Europe.
