The future is here: a car-plane has successfully flown with a passenger (video)

KleinVision has completed the first passenger flight in a flying car: An AirCar with a pilot and a passenger took off from the runway at Piestany Airport in Slovakia.

The honorary right to become the first passenger of the flying car was granted to the legendary French composer Jean-Michel Jarre. We took him for a ride over the nearby flowered meadows, forests dressed in leaves, vineyards, and the elegant huts of Slovak villagers.

The speed of the aircraft-car was in the range of 200-250 kilometers per hour, although in the maximum flight mode this aircraft can reach 290 km/h and fly at an altitude of up to 5.4 km. This was reported by KleinVision.

At first, the musician was shown the hangar with the plane and told about its features. The impression was that KleinVision was telling and showing the capabilities of the flying car not so much to the guest and passenger as to the potential customer. A composer can afford such a purchase, although the price tag of $500,000 is unaffordable for an average person.

The convenience of such a vehicle is that it has approval for operation on public roads and an aircraft flight certificate. From the car mode, the hybrid takes only 90 seconds to release its wings and prepare for flight. The aircraft can take off from either the concrete runway of the airport or from a hard grassy surface or dirt road.

If a driver only needs a category B driver’s license to travel on the highway, then to fly, he or she should at least take a small aircraft pilot training course. It is likely that the composer Jean-Michel Jarreau has already set his eyes on the plane, while the line for it is not so long.

AirCar is one of the first flying cars with an official airworthiness certificate (2022). It can cover a distance of up to 1000 km in flight mode and travel more than 500 km on the ground.

By 2026, AirCar may enter the markets of many European countries and even Asian ones.
