Starlink services restored after large-scale outage on May 29

Elon Musk’s SpaceX satellite Internet division, Starlink, has resumed operations after a large-scale outage that lasted almost an hour. The outage occurred on May 29 and affected more than 41,000 users worldwide.

The official Starlink page on the social network X (Twitter) reported: “Starlink is currently experiencing a network outage and we are actively implementing a solution. We appreciate your patience, we will share updates when this issue is resolved.”

Almost an hour later, the company announced that the network problem was completely resolved. Users from the United States expressed their gratitude for the quick restoration of communication. One user, X, wrote: “We are back online after a 20 minute outage in rural California. First outage in 2.5 years of using Starlink.”

Downdetector.com, a website that monitors Internet service outages, reported that Starlink services have been unavailable since about 4:07 a.m., affecting 41,393 users. The largest number of complaints came from the United States, where more than 39 thousand users experienced problems. In addition, massive failures were recorded in Germany, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
