TikTok moved Ukraine to the European region: what does it mean

The popular social network TikTok transferred users from Ukraine to the European “region”. This means that now the Ukrainian segment of TikTok will be moderated by other people.

Oleksandr Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for IT Development, said this.

He noted that previously a lot of Ukrainian content on TikTok was blocked, and the creators were transferred to a “shadow ban” due to their association with the Russian “region”. However, since the beginning of the full-scale war, many companies have realized that Ukrainian users do not want to have anything to do with Russian users.

“Companies understand that we can no longer be in the same “region” with Russia. Now we will communicate with new people. I think this will improve the situation,” said Bornyakov.

It is about the fact that the Ukrainian segment of TikTok will now be moderated by people responsible for the administration of the European “region”. So there is a possibility that the social network will stop blocking videos about the war in Ukraine.
