An unusual defect was found in the Pro version of the iPhone 14
MyDrivers journalists published a photo of the iPhone 14 Pro with a rather unusual defect. It was discovered by a buyer of a new smartphone immediately after unpacking it.
As you know, the Pro-versions of the iPhone received a cut instead of a ‘bang’, which Apple designers called Dynamic Islands. In a defective smartphone, you can see a dead zone in the cutout area, which makes it visually disproportionate. There was no damage to the packaging of the mobile device.
Apple installs LTPO displays in the Pro version of the iPhone, the refresh rate of which varies between 1-120 Hz. They are manufactured by Samsung Display. If during the examination of the defective phone at the service center, it is found that the dead zone in Dynamic Island is not considered a warranty case, then the replacement of the screen will cost the buyer 400 USD.
This week, Apple gave iOS developers access to the Dynamic Island API. This allows them to adapt their applications for use on the Pro versions of the iPhone.
