British fighter jets set a record at the exercises, launching 53 missiles at unmanned targets
Pilots of F-35 Lightning II and Eurofighter Typhoon fighters of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain (RAF) were able to set a record for the number of launched AIM-132 ASRAAM missiles.
The record was set as part of exercises in September 2022, which took place at the Hebridean Air Weapons Ranges. Over the course of ten days, F-35 Lightning II and Eurofighter Typhoon pilots from eight squadrons conducted the largest ever missile launch against unmanned Banshee targets, firing 53 missiles.

The AIM-132 Advanced Short-Range Air (ASRAAM) is a British air-to-air missile. It has a mass of 88 kg, a length of 2.9 meters and a diameter of 1.6 cm. In flight, the rocket can develop a speed of up to Mach 3.5 (4321.8 km/h).
