The Czech parliament recognized the current Russian regime as terrorist
On Wednesday, November 16, the Parliament of the Czech Republic adopted a resolution that recognizes the current Russian regime as a terrorist
The resolution was published on the website of the Czech Parliament.
156 deputies of the Czech Republic took part in the vote. Of them, 129 voted “for”. 14 deputies from the opposition movement “Freedom and Direct Democracy” (SPD) were “against”.
Thus, the People’s Deputies of the Czech Republic condemn, in particular, large-scale attacks on the civilian population of Ukraine. Also, the resolution does not recognize the results of the pseudo-referendums that the Russian Federation held in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The document also notes that attacks on the Zaporizhia NPP pose a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to the entire world. This and other attacks on Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure “result in significant restrictions or interruptions in the supply of energy, water or heat, putting the civilian population at risk.”
In addition, the Czech Parliament supported the initiative to create a special tribunal for prosecution of crimes of aggression. He also advocated their investigation under the leadership of the International Criminal Court, which would allow the perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Russian Federation to be punished.
- Earlier, the US Senate called on the State Department to recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism for its actions in Ukraine, Georgia, Syria and Chechnya. According to Politico, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi warned Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that if his department does not recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism, Congress will.

- On November 3, the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament adopted a resolution recognizing the Russian regime as terrorist.
