The fleet of maritime drones will be launched by the end of the year – Fedorov
By the end of December, Ukraine will launch the first naval drone fleet on the planet. They will engage in the physical destruction of Russian troops. Mykhailo Fedorov told Ukrainians about this in Telegram.
He reminded that the UNITED24 platform was launched in Ukraine at the end of spring. It is intended to collect funds for the financing of the Armed Forces. During seven months, residents of 110 countries of the world donated 237 million USD for the needs of the Ukrainian army. Part of these funds was directed to the development of maritime drones.
According to Fedorov, Ukrainians learn about the results of the work of surface drones from the news. They will not have to wait long for this. In November, funds collected with the help of UNITED24 were used to purchase Plastun, Sich, EOS CO3 VTOL and Penguin UAVs.
It became known in November that Ukrainian engineers had designed marine drones with a range of up to 400 km. The weight of the surface drone is 1,000 kg. It is capable of developing speeds of up to 80 km/h. The declared autonomy of the drone is 60 hours. As part of this mission, it is capable of covering a distance of up to 800 kilometers. The cost of one drone is UAH 10 million. Creation of the fleet will cost UAH 1 billion.
