Ukrainian developers have presented the latest ultralight reconnaissance UAV

Militarnyi informs: the Ukrainian company ALTAIR Technologies demonstrated the Loki drone at the World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Loki drone is 1 meter long and has a wingspan of 1.5 meters. The UAV can perform flight missions for up to 45 minutes. The flight range of 45 km can be increased by another 2 km.

A small drone with a maximum takeoff weight of 4 to 4.5 kg can carry a payload of 0.6-1.7 kg. The UAV reaches a maximum flight altitude of 1500 meters and has a cruising speed of 72 km/h, with a range of possible speeds from 60 km/h to 150 km/h.

Loki’s body is made of composite materials, which provides lightness and strength at the same time. The drone’s motor and systems are powered by a 16.8V lithium-polymer or lithium-ion battery. The drone uses 900 MHz and 433 MHz communication frequencies, and there is also a separate additional channel for control and video. The UAV receives telemetry and video signals from a distance of 10-25 km. Loki is launched from pneumatic launchers and makes a horizontal landing with a short run-up.

ALTAIR Technologies is a developer and manufacturer of combat and reconnaissance drones, as well as anti-drone weapons. The company has research and production facilities in Ukraine and the UAE.

In 2023, ALTAIR Technologies became a member of the National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industries (NAUDI). The Loki UAV was presented at the joint NAUDI stand along with products from other Ukrainian drone developers.

In addition to Loki, the exhibition features the already well-known Gor drones and two models of Shark reconnaissance drones. It should be noted that the Shark UAVs were presented in October 2022.

Wedrones, an Abu Dhabi-based company, presented a model of the Karma unmanned aerial vehicle for combating kamikaze drones at UMEX-2024. The developers of the drone described their device as a “cheap and effective system for destroying barrage munitions.” According to them, Karma is ready to replace expensive anti-aircraft guided missiles.
