SSO operators demonstrated the destruction of an anti-tank missile system using the Switchblade 300 UAV
SSO fighters used the American Switchblade 300 unmanned aerial vehicle to destroy the enemy anti-tank missile system. A video recording the process of destroying the target was posted on the Facebook account of the SSO regiment named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave.
As a result of the attack with the help of a kamikaze drone, one Russian serviceman died on the spot. Four more soldiers were wounded. In the message published under the video, it is stated that the Switchblade 300 is used by SSO operators to support offensive operations. American kamikaze drones make it possible to deliver precise strikes on the enemy.
After the Switchblade 300 hit, the Ukrainian military launched another kamikaze drone at the occupiers. As a result, enemy losses in manpower increased even more.
Switchblade 300 UAVs are supplied to the Armed Forces by the North American company AeroVironment. The drone was presented in the USA in 2011. It has the following technical characteristics:
- Range: 10 km.
- Maximum height: 4.5 km.
- Flight speed: 160 km/h.
- Autonomy: 15 min.
In October, it became known that the Pentagon decided to transfer a trial batch of Switchblade 600 drones to the Armed Forces. They are a heavier modification of the aircraft designed to destroy armored vehicles.
