Italy and France will hand over the SAMP-T (Mamba) air defense system to Ukraine

Italy and France took the time to transfer the SAMP-T (Mamba) anti-aircraft defense system to Ukraine, having informed the French Ambassador to Ukraine, Etienne de Ponsin, about an hour of hearing from the National Assembly of France.

“Because President Zelensky’s rather uncompromising swindle, and the Italians confirmed to us that the viconati is ready. With this rank, we can satisfy our needs,” the ambassador said.

The SAMP-T anti-aircraft missile system is being developed by the French-Italian company Eurosam. Its key components are the Aster 30 missile and the richly functional Arabel radar.

This is a ground-based system of the “povitrya-povitrya” class. The range of detection of targets should be up to 80 km. SAMs have a minimum reaction time and a high rate of fire: 8 missiles can be launched in 10 seconds.

Basically, the system is composed of several launch vehicles, the Thales Arabel multi-functional radar with the “friend or foe” identification system, an attack module based on a command and control machine and a car electric generator.

In addition, the launchers are accompanied by two helicopters with spare missiles for reloading.

Among other characteristics of the system:

  • Aircraft drop distance: 100+ km;
  • Range of drop of ballistic missiles: up to 30-35 km;
  • Target height: up to 25 km;
  • Weight of combat part of an anti-aircraft missile: 15–20 kg.

In total, two donor countries have 60 such complexes: France has 40, Italy has 20 alone.

The main role of SAMP-T is the causal agent of the fired military installations and objects of critical infrastructure. France victorious system for the defense of their air bases. For the help of SAMP/T, you can shoot down airfoils and missiles, including missiles and anti-radiolocations.

Let’s guess, that in the same time the order of Ukraine, having submitted to Italy, applied for the acquisition of SAMP-T software systems.
