The Armed Forces of Ukraine first showed Belgian M109A4BE howitzers at the front
Last summer, information appeared that Great Britain would buy approximately two dozen Belgian M109 self-propelled howitzers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Six months later, artillery installations were seen at the front.
What is known
Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first time published photos of the M109 howitzer in combat conditions. The Belgian variant of the self-propelled artillery installation is called the M109A4BE.
In June, the media reported that Great Britain planned to purchase 20 M109A4BE units from the private Belgian company FTS for Ukraine. However, in September, information appeared about 28 purchased self-propelled howitzers at a price of €15,000 per unit.
