Ukraine will produce L119 howitzers according to NATO standard – BAE Systems opens its office

The Ministry of Strategic Industry has signed a partnership agreement with one of the world’s largest defense companies, British BAE Systems. The company has already opened an office in Ukraine.

This was announced by Minister Oleksandr Kamyshin.

“Cooperation of this level is a very powerful signal. Despite daily enemy missile attacks and full-scale military operations, BAE Systems is ready to work here, side by side with us. Such cooperation is a one hundred percent win-win story,” he wrote.

The Ukrainian division of BAE Systems will produce L119 howitzers of 105 mm caliber in accordance with NATO standards.

Ukrainian defenders have been successfully using weapons manufactured by the British company, including M777 and L119 artillery systems, M109 self-propelled artillery systems, CV-90 and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and Challenger tanks.

In late May, President Zelenskyy held talks with representatives of BAE Systems to open an office in Ukraine and later localize production and repair facilities here.
