Ukrainian military shows rare video of TOW-2B anti-tank missile system in Bakhmut area
Members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated the TOW-2B anti-tank missile system in action. The video was filmed in the hottest part of the frontline near Bakhmut.
The anti-missile system is mounted on an HMMWV armored vehicle. However, TOW-2Bs are also part of the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which were announced to be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces a few months ago.
The missile is equipped with a warhead with a diameter of approximately 150 mm and two EFP-type charges developed by Aerojet. The warhead is detonated during the missile’s flight over the most vulnerable part of the target.
The TOW-2B missile is equipped with a remote dual-mode detonator. Magnetic and laser sensors are used to detect a large mass of metal near the target. They then cause the warhead to detonate.
