Ukrainian troops oust occupants from some positions in Bakhmut – Syrskyi
The Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted counterattacks in certain areas in Bakhmut, forcing the occupiers to abandon some of their positions. This was reported by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Military Media Center quoted.
On April 30, Syrsky visited several areas in the combat zone and awarded the defenders of Bakhmut who distinguished themselves in combat.
The commander says that intense fighting continues in the Bakhmut sector. The situation is quite complicated: the occupants conducted numerous attacks trying to break through the Ukrainian defense in several areas, but failed.
“The enemy is making every effort to advance and is not counting on anything. Despite significant losses, new assault groups of Wagner, fighters from other private companies, and paratroopers are constantly rushing into the battle. But the enemy fails to take control of the city,” explained Syrsky.
According to him, Ukrainian troops have also repelled numerous attacks in the Liman sector over the past few days. Syrsky says the enemy suffered losses there, and Ukrainians captured 10 enemy soldiers.
