Windows 10 has come to an end: Microsoft has stopped the development of this OS

Microsoft has stopped developing new features for Windows 10. The Windows 10 22H2 release will be the final version of this operating system. The company will continue to release only monthly security updates until October 2025.

Microsoft is encouraging users to upgrade to Windows 11, as Windows 10 will not receive any new features.

Now that Windows 11 has been out for more than a year and a half, it’s no surprise that the company is starting to wind down work on Windows 10, the operating system that was first launched in 2015. The company took a step forward when it stopped selling Windows 10.

Interestingly, with the release of Windows 10, Microsoft publicly promised that it would be the last version of Windows and would be developed indefinitely. Therefore, significant updates with their own names, such as Creators Update, were released under this name. They contained so many changes that they could be considered a new OS.

According to unconfirmed rumors, Microsoft has decided to forget about its promise to make Windows 10 the last Windows through Apple. The release of Apple’s macOS 11 Big Sur in 2020 pushed Microsoft to release Windows 11 in 2021 so that it wouldn’t look like Windows was lagging behind in the eyes of users.

By the way, there are unconfirmed rumors that Microsoft is already preparing Windows 12.
