iPhone 16 will be 7-inch
Buyers of the top-of-the-line iPhone may have to get used to holding a mini-tablet. The iPhone 16 Pro Max model, which is due out next year, will have a 6.9-inch screen, while the regular iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display.
This year’s Apple smartphones will also be big. The company is expected to unveil its new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro at a presentation in September, and they will have the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays as the current iPhone 14 line.
The news about the increase in screen diagonal in iPhones came from a highly reliable source, Ross Young. He did not name the exact size of the diagonal, but said on Twitter that next year’s iPhone 16 Pro will have slightly larger screens than the current models. He reported sizes of 6.2x and 6.8x, and later he clarified that they rounded up to 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively, suggesting that the last decimal place is closer to the top of the scale.
Earlier, Ross Young said that the iPhone 16 Pro will also feature Face ID under the screen and a camera with holes, repeating the Dynamic Island that proved popular in the iPhone 14 Pro.
Prior to the iPhone 15, Apple will unveil iOS 17 in June at WWDC 2023. Along with the new software, the biggest news looks set to be the unveiling of the Apple VR Reality Pro headset, Apple’s first-ever mixed reality device that can be worn for fitness, gaming, conferencing, education, and collaboration.
