Roketsan publishes video of TAYFUN ballistic missile launch with a range of over 500 km
Turkish company Roketsan has shared a video of a test of the TAYFUN short-range ballistic missile. It can hit targets at a distance of over 500 km, but this is not the limit.
During the first test launch, which took place last fall, the missile flew 561 km in 458 seconds. However, Roketsan will increase the range of TAYFUN to 1000 km. This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the end of last year.
During the first test launch, TAYFUN successfully hit the target. The fact that the ballistic missile flew 561 km in 458 seconds means that the flight speed is more than 1.22 km/s or approximately 4400 km/h (Mach 3.56). No further information on TAYFUN is available.
