The Armed Forces of Ukraine captured the newest modernized T-80BVM tank of the 2022 model for the first time (video)
According to Oryx analysts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed two modernized T-80BVM tanks of the 2022 model and damaged another. And so, the first such tank was captured.
This was written by @UAWeapons analysts. They note that the 2022 model tank has more dynamic protection compared to the conventional T-80BVM modification, but it has worse thermal imaging optics. Instead of the Sosna-U, a 1PN-96MT-02 sight was installed.

Russian media call the T-80BVM of the 2022 model a “modified tank”. Dynamic protection is mounted on the super-tracked shelves, and the turret is equipped with an anti-stimulus mesh at the point where it is attached to the hull. This solution was borrowed from the T-90M of the 2022 model.
The T-80BVM is equipped with a gas turbine engine with a capacity of 1250 horsepower. The maximum speed is 80 km/h on the highway and the range reaches 500 km. The 2A46-4 gun has a caliber of 125 mm.
