Coyote Block 3 kamikaze UAV will be reusable
Raytheon Technologies has signed a contract with the US Navy to modernize the Coyote Block 3 kamikaze UAV. The contract amounted to USD 146 million. As part of the FAST program, the configuration of the barrage munition will be finalized. It will receive a new launcher and fire control system.
The Navy leadership set the task for the contractor to turn Coyote Block 3 into a reusable drone. The fact is that the cost of one aircraft is 15,000 USD. The US military wants to use UAVs not only for strikes but also for reconnaissance.
