On June 30, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted amendments to the rules for assigning license plates, allowing car owners to choose license plates during registration, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
From now on, when registering a car with the state, the owner will have the right to choose a license plate or its alphanumeric combination at his/her request.
Also, the possibility of booking license plates or their alphanumeric combination at a price of UAH 9 per day will be introduced.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers has set the cost of choosing a license plate when registering or re-registering a vehicle at UAH 300 (except for paid license plates).
The Ministry of Internal Affairs believes that this decision “will provide additional flexibility and variability in the processes of providing applicants with administrative services related to state registration of vehicles.”
The ability to sell cars through Diia and the Driver’s Electronic Office will be available in September 2013.
