BMW presented a budget electric motorcycle BMW CE 02 and smart glasses Motorrad (video)

The German automaker BMW has expanded its range of electric motorcycles with a new model – the CE 02. It is much smaller than the recently released CE 04 electric bike and is designed for younger customers.

According to Engadget, although the vehicle itself resembles a scooter rather than a full-fledged motorcycle, BMW calls the machine an eParkourer. Yes, it’s complicated, and yes, it’s mostly just a marketing ploy, but the CE 02 looks like a more classic version of the Honda Rukus with an electric powertrain inside.

The manufacturer claims that the CE 02 has an 11 kW battery that provides a range of 90 km and a top speed of about 100 km/h. The bike is definitely designed for city travel.

Prices for the BMW CE 02 start at $7,599, while the larger and more powerful BMW CE 04 model costs from $12,700. The new product will go on sale in the spring of 2024.

Along with the new motorcycle, BMW also introduced Motorrad smart glasses that show speed, highway speed limits, gear (for gasoline models) and turning directions. The glasses work with any of the company’s bicycles and e-bikes that use the Motorrad app. The price of this accessory has not yet been disclosed, but the glasses will go on sale this summer.
