Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy valuable Russian radar station “Zoo-1” with a high-precision GMLRS shell
In the middle of last month, the Special Operations Forces used HIMARS to destroy the highly valuable Zoo-1 radar station. Recently, another such station was liquidated.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces once again used the GMLRS precision-guided missile, meaning that the attack was carried out either by an M142 HIMARS or one of the M270 MLRS modifications. The radar was destroyed in Zaporizhzhia region.

The Zoo-1 complex is used to search for artillery systems. The radar station can determine the enemy’s position and calculate the trajectory of an artillery shell. The MT-LB tracked armored personnel carrier is used as a chassis.
The radar can detect the positions of mortars, howitzers and rocket artillery. The maximum detection range is 17 km, 12 km and 45 km, respectively.
