Ukrainian defenders have to approach the enemy through completely mined areas. Nevertheless, they entered enemy positions and drove the Russians out.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, fighters of the 47th separate mechanized brigade “Magura” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took up enemy positions and found themselves on the dominant height. They have taken over the heights and are moving forward. The Ukrainian defenders are hampered by the continuous mining of the territory. How the Armed Forces of Ukraine stormed and liberated Zaporizhzhia region – in a report by Radio Liberty on July 8.

According to the defenders from Magura, the mined area has become a real problem – as soon as the fighters clear a section of the front to advance, the Russian occupiers conduct remote mining again. They use all the means at their disposal, including prohibited ones.

In front of the journalists, Ukrainian defenders stormed the enemy positions and carried out the operation without losses.

Aerial reconnaissance men were watching the actions of their comrades from the air.

“Our guys are in position, hanging the flag. They’ve gone into the trench completely. This trench, they are just flying into the trench. They had just taken a good position at a height that controlled the supply and evacuation. Then the assault continued. The enemy’s position was destroyed by our artillery. It is a difficult direction. We have to walk in the open for a long time, plus the whole area is mined,” says the “Aver” fighter.

The soldiers say that the Russian occupiers have dug real holes here and note that the enemy is digging successfully and professionally. “The Magurivtsi believe that the situation will be even more difficult at the second line.

The soldiers did not enter the settlement where the unit is now located on the first attempt, but tried several times. On the second day, they broke through the enemy’s defense and gained a foothold. Artillery, tanks, and a lot of enemy aircraft were firing on them. In Novoaydarivka, the brigade’s positions are under fire from the Russian armed forces, but despite the shelling, the soldiers do not leave them.

“The enemy cannot be underestimated. They are holding on to every piece. We need more equipment and more people. I think that at the end of August we will be sunbathing on the Azov Sea or even the Black Sea,” says “Artist”.
