The Ukrainian Armed Forces received dynamic protection for Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and it is not about Kontakt

There is a ready-made solution for the M2 Bradley BMP with standard BRAT dynamic protection kits from the American General Dynamics and Israeli Rafael
An M2A2 Bradley ODS-SA infantry fighting vehicle with Bradley Reactive Armor Tiles (BRAT) dynamic protection was spotted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Such a vehicle was caught on a video of a training session of one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces assault units, whose soldiers were practicing landing from an armored personnel carrier.

The Bradley Reactive Armor Tiles kit is actually quite standard for this vehicle in the U.S. Army and is installed in areas of real combat operations when it is necessary to provide additional protection for the vehicle.

And Bradleys in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Syria are usually equipped with just such additional protection, which was created specifically for this vehicle.

The kit itself has several variations, and the one seen in the Armed Forces of Ukraine consists of 96 elements that are installed in the frontal and side projections of the vehicle, as well as on the turret. The dynamic defense itself is the result of a joint effort by the American General Dynamics and Israeli Rafael.

Containers with dynamic protection are mounted on a special frame and fasteners and can be installed in the field.

The exact parameters of the BRAT elements themselves in terms of resistance to cumulative munitions are not disclosed. However, it is noted that they are designed to counter not only grenade launchers, but all modern anti-tank missiles, including long-range ATGMs.
