Recently, Ukraine officially presented the MAGURA V5 maritime drone at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023). And now a video demonstrating the new product has appeared on the Internet.

The story about the drone was filmed by the American edition of CNN. The reporters visited a secret base where drones are tested and talked to the developers and one of the operators of the device with the call sign “Shark.”

The MAGURA V5 is a multi-purpose surface unmanned vehicle. It can conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, and search and rescue operations at sea, as well as be a kamikaze drone. In the latter case, MAGURA V5 carries up to 320 kg of explosives. The maximum range of the device is up to 800 km and the maximum speed is over 75 km/h.

According to the operator with the call sign “Akula,” the drone is very easy to control. By the way, it was with the MAGURA V5 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit three Russian ships in October 2022, including the new flagship Admiral Makarov, which replaced the cruiser Moskva. MAGURA V5 is fully developed and manufactured in Ukraine.
