Chinese company Broad Group built a 10-storey building in just 28 hours (video)
In China, they built a 10-story building in a very short time – just 28 hours and 45 minutes. This project was implemented by Broad Group.
Rapid construction was made possible by the Living Building prefabricated construction system. The technology is also used to build hotels, hospitals, and residential buildings.
This technology involves assembling a house from individual blocks. The advantages of this system are compactness and mobility. The dimensions of each building module assembly are the same as those of a shipping container.
Living Building has designed the system so that the units are easy to transport and install. Its components are fastened together at home. The building modules consist of stainless steel construction. Electrical wiring and ventilation are installed at the factory.
The Broad Group assured that such modules are 10 times lighter and 100 times stronger than the concrete ones that people are used to. Another advantage is the cost, which will be lower than that of a “carbon steel building,” while energy consumption will be lower.
The developers noted that the prefabricated structures used during construction are not only strong but also earthquake-resistant. In addition, if necessary, they can be disassembled and moved to another location and reassembled
