SpaceX partners with Cloudflare to speed up Starlink service
Elon Musk’s SpaceX is partnering with Cloudflare to improve the performance of its Starlink satellite Internet service, The Information reports, citing a person with direct knowledge of the project.
Shares of Cloudflare, which provides content delivery services, jumped 7.2%.
The companies are working to expand Starlink’s network of mini-data centers around the world, which could help it provide faster network speeds to its customers.
Starlink is one of a growing number of small satellite manufacturers focused on providing satellite Internet, including Amazon.com, the UK’s OneWeb, and venture capital firm Planet.
The financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
