Satellite images of the airfield in Kursk after the drone attack have appeared

Satellite images of the airfield in Kursk after a drone attack organized by the Security Service of Ukraine’s counterintelligence service have been posted online. Preliminary, they do not show any obvious damage or destroyed aircraft.

The photo was published by Tyler Rogoway, editor-in-chief of The War Zone. On August 27, Ukrainian drones attacked a military airfield in Kursk.

It was reported that they practiced on five Russian planes, an S-300 radar and two Pantsyrs.

However, according to Rogovey, there is no obvious damage in the images.

“Examination of satellite images of the Russian airbase taken this morning in Kursk, which is likely to have been subjected to a massive drone attack, shows no obvious damage. There are no destroyed aircraft,” Rogovey wrote.

Although, as he emphasized, these images still need to be analyzed in detail. Therefore, there may still be damage.

“This is a superficial overview. Commercial satellite imagery has certain limitations. There may be small damage that does not cause secondary events, but there is no obvious large-scale damage,” the journalist noted.

It is worth noting that on the night of August 27, several explosions occurred in the Russian city of Kursk. Eyewitnesses claimed that there were at least 13 of them.

In the morning, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian air defense had shot down a drone, which crashed into a high-rise building, smashing windows in apartments on several floors.

However, our sources claim that this was not the end of the matter. The Russians kept silent about the fact that the “cotton” had arrived at the military airfield in Kursk.

Earlier, it was reported that up to 13 explosions occurred in Kursk last night. In the morning, the governor of the region announced that a UAV had hit a multi-story building.

Russian journalists conducted an investigation and found that the drone did not reach the location of the electronic warfare brigade of the Russian Armed Forces about 300 meters away.

It was also reported that on August 20, an explosion occurred at the train station in Kursk, and fragments of broken windows injured five people. At the same time, airports in the Moscow region were closed due to the threat of drone attacks.
