Ukrainian Defense Forces destroy a rare Iranian Mohajer-6 attack drone

It can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h, carry Ghaem bombs and Almas missiles

The Russian army lost another Mohajer-6 unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone was shot down in Odesa region.

The Russians regularly use Iranian Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 kamikaze drones to strike Ukraine. Mohajer-6 is much less common. It is a reconnaissance and strike drone.

The unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed on September 2, 2023, by air defense forces in Odesa region. This was reported by the press service of the South Air Command. Details are not specified.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have previously destroyed Mohajer-6s, and last year the Ukrainian Navy managed to capture one when it fell into the Black Sea. As it turned out later, the UAV was shot down by the navigator of a small armored artillery boat.

The Mohajer-6 was equipped with a Rotax Aircraft Engines powerplant, a camera with a multispectral sensor, a laser rangefinder, and a Ghaem-5 bomb with an 8.5 kg warhead. On paper, the drone can carry up to 100 kg of payload.

In addition to Ghaem bombs, the Mohajer-6 can be armed with Almas missiles with a range of 8 km. It is believed that the Iranians developed them on the basis of the Israeli Spike missile. It should also be noted that the UAV is capable of reaching a speed of 200 km/h and has a range of 200 km.
